How to redirect a domain to your website

Updated

The short answer

Every domain you send from needs a website. The easiest one is a redirect: anyone who opens yourdomain.com lands on your main website.

Email Sender holds campaigns from a domain with no website, and sends again within minutes of the redirect working.

Find where your domain is managed

Open Connected accounts, then Domains and tracking, and click the domain. It shows who runs it and the exact steps.

Then pick your provider below.

Cloudflare

  1. In Cloudflare, open yourdomain.com and go to DNS.
  2. Add an A record: Name @, IPv4 address 192.0.2.1, Proxy status on (orange cloud). If @ already has an A record, edit it instead.
  3. Go to Rules, click Create rule and pick Redirect Rule.
  4. Pick All incoming requests.
  5. Set the URL to https://yourwebsite.com, the status code to 301, and click Deploy.

Squarespace

  1. In Squarespace, open Domains and click yourdomain.com.
  2. Open Website, scroll to Domain forwarding and click Add rule.
  3. Leave the subdomain empty, paste https://yourwebsite.com and pick Permanent (301).
  4. Save.

GoDaddy

  1. In GoDaddy, open Domain Portfolio and click yourdomain.com.
  2. Open DNS, then Forwarding, and click Add Forwarding.
  3. Pick Domain, choose https:// and type yourwebsite.com.
  4. Pick Permanent (301) and click Save.

Namecheap

  1. In Namecheap, open Domain List and click Manage next to yourdomain.com.
  2. Open Advanced DNS. Delete any A or CNAME record for @.
  3. Click Add New Record and pick URL Redirect Record.
  4. Host: @. Value: https://yourwebsite.com. Pick Permanent (301).
  5. Click the check mark to save.

Porkbun

  1. In Porkbun, open Domain Management and click Details next to yourdomain.com.
  2. Click the edit icon next to URL Forwarding.
  3. Leave Hostname empty and paste https://yourwebsite.com in Forward Traffic To.
  4. Click Toggle advanced settings, pick 301 Permanent Redirect and click Submit.

Hostinger

  1. In Hostinger, open Domains and click Manage next to yourdomain.com.
  2. Open DNS / Nameservers, then the Redirects tab.
  3. Paste https://yourwebsite.com in Redirect to and pick Permanent (301).
  4. Click Create redirect.

ClouDNS

  1. In ClouDNS, open the DNS zone for yourdomain.com and click Add new record.
  2. Pick Web Redirect and leave Host empty.
  3. Paste https://yourwebsite.com in Points to, pick 301 and save.

Google Cloud DNS, Amazon Route 53 and others

  1. Your DNS host cannot redirect a domain on its own.
  2. If a company set up your inboxes, ask them to forward yourdomain.com to https://yourwebsite.com.
  3. Or move the DNS to Cloudflare for free, then follow the Cloudflare steps.

Any other provider

  1. Sign in to the company you bought yourdomain.com from and open yourdomain.com.
  2. Find Domain forwarding or Redirect.
  3. Send yourdomain.com to https://yourwebsite.com as a permanent (301) redirect and save.

Back in Email Sender, open the domain and click Check now.
